Beneath The Valley Of Top Of The Pops

A bunch of top, terrifying and positively weird outsider tunes courtesy of the archived 365 Days Project. My top three so far: the bathos of ‘Love Hurts’ by the Phi Mu Washboard Band (144), the unexpectedly lush arrangement of Barbie and Ken’s ‘Nobody Taught Me’ (151), and the cheerful lunacy of the Reverend Glen Armstrong’s ‘Even Squeaky Fromme Loves Christmas’ (148).

See, when you enquired as to why everyone's obsessed with New Wave in your previous post, I was sure for some time that you were talking about music. Now you're talking about music, but not New Wave.
It's confusing ;)

Confusing because so much new music these days is pure New Wave, non-ironic, non-inventive aping of early '80s disco-punk, new romantic, indie and what have you. Whereas in sf everyone's apparently trying to reject the New Wave all over again.
Hm. Discuss? Nah.

Well, to try to straighten things out, I'd rather see the rival of Moorcock era New Worlds magazine than, er, Aha :)
